About Beak & Branch

Beak & Branch is an independent guide to backyard birding gear — feeders, hummingbird equipment, smart feeder cameras, and the poles, seed and optics around them. It exists because most feeder advice online is either a retailer's listing page or a rewrite of one, and neither answers the question people actually have: which one should I buy for the birds in my yard?

How we make recommendations

Every guide starts from species behavior — what a bird eats, how it perches, what it's scared of — and works back to the hardware. Picks are built from manufacturer specifications, long-term owner feedback across retail and community sources, and independent reviews. Where we have bought and used a product ourselves, the guide says so explicitly; where we haven't yet, the guide says that too. We'd rather be honest about the difference than pretend. How the site is funded
